Broan Fresh Air Systems - HEPA Filtration

Today’s tighter homes seal in air. Fresh, outside air can’t get in. Stale, inside air has nowhere to go. Moisture build-up from sources inside the home can cause costly structural damage. Likewise, the build-up of indoor pollutants from throughout the home can aggravate respiratory ailments and in some cases even cause them. Fortunately, Broan offers effective solutions to poor indoor air quality problems – the GUARDIAN™ line of indoor air quality systems. Each helps maintain good indoor air quality by introducing fresh air from outside while expelling stale air from inside. And Broan’s range of systems means there’s a GUARDIAN™ that’s just right for your particular application.

• ERV – Energy Recovery Ventilator – Broan’s most energy efficient IAQ solution; designed for year-round, continuous ventilation to help make a house a healthier home.

• HRV – Heat Recovery Ventilator – Eliminates excess moisture during the heating season while recovering precious heat from outgoing stale air.

• Air Exchanger – Broan’s most economical, yet effective solution for removing excess humidity during the heating season.

Your home's trying to tell you something

You may not notice the warning signs of poor indoor air quality at first. Or give them much thought. But they're all around you. And so are the culprits.

RESPIRATORY HAZARDS
Statistics show that one out of three families in the U.S. has at least one person who suffers from some sort of respiratory ailment. Recurring flus. Allergies. Persistent coughs or nasal congestion. Poor indoor air quality impacts them all - aggravating conditions; in some cases, even causing them.

Lingering odors from smoking, cooking and pets can tell you the air in your home is stale and stagnant. But chances are, the problems run far deeper.

Indoor air pollutants come from all kinds of sources. People generate carbon dioxide (CO2) simply by breathing. Dust, pollen and airborne bacteria are common. Paints, aerosol sprays and household cleaners emit noxious fumes. Carpeting adhesives and other building materials pose similar problems. Plus, faulty or poorly ventilated furnaces and fireplaces can produce toxic carbon monoxide.

EXCESS HUMIDITY
Cooking and bathing produce a lot of humidity. Even the average person releases over two pounds of water into a home's atmosphere every day, just by breathing and perspiring.

And excess humidity can be costly. If left unchecked, that condensation on your windows will spoil a lot more than your view. Paint discoloration, peeling wallpaper and mildewed, rotting sills are some of the more apparent symptoms. Major structural damage and health problems from molds and microorganisms are less noticeable, but far more devastating.
